Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is one of the most popular franchises in the Indian Premier League. The team represents Kolkata and plays its home matches at the historic Eden Gardens, which is one of the largest and most passionate cricket venues in the world.

The franchise was founded in 2008 and is owned by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, along with Juhi Chawla and businessman Jay Mehta. KKR quickly became one of the most widely followed IPL teams because of its strong brand value and entertainment factor.

Kolkata Knight Riders achieved major success under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir, who led the team to two IPL titles in 2012 and 2014. These victories marked the golden period of the franchise and established KKR as a championship-winning side. The team has produced many memorable performances over the years in both batting and bowling departments.

KKR is known for featuring explosive international stars and powerful all-rounders such as Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and Robin Uthappa, who played important roles in the team’s success. The franchise is particularly famous for its aggressive batting style and match-winning lower-order hitting.

The purple and gold jersey of KKR has become a symbol of pride for its fans, who are known for creating an electrifying atmosphere at Eden Gardens during home matches. The team continues to maintain a strong fan following across India.
